The ECU Joondalup SC Women’s side are in State League Semi-finals action on Saturday afternoon, when they take on South West Phoenix at the Ellenbrook Sports Hub at 5.00pm.

Toby Wright’s side moved into the last four after a forfeit win in the final group stage game against Stirling, but two wins prior to that gives the coach confidence going into the game.

“It will be a hard match against a strong team so win, lose or draw it will give us an opportunity to see where we are, at this moment of preseason,” he said.

“The team have been working hard at training and are certainly up for it. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully the team can perform well on the night.”

Be Jacks pushed the Phoenix all the way in their two league games last season, when the Bunbury based club won the league, and striker Frankie Murray said it sets up another good game.

“This will be a massive test for us as a new team against a strong opposition, but I think we are up for the test. We have been working hard at training in both our attacking and defensive phases and the team has grown so much since our first game together,” she said.

“We’re all looking forward to a hard battle with the girls and to prove we are a strong team going into the new season.”
