We head into another exciting weekend of football at the ECU Campus, and our NPLWA side will go in search of the clubs first senior Cup Final win since 2002, when they take on Floreat Athena in the Belt-Up Cup Final at Inglewood Stadium on Saturday afternoon – Get along and support the guys!!!!!

There were some excellent performances and results last week. Our NPLWA sides were beaten at home by Sorrento. Danny Hodgson scored twice but the first team were beaten 2-3, and our 20s were also beaten 2-3, with goals from Ben Rutter and Oliver Makin.

The under 18s lost in an eight-goal thriller, with Brayden Tierney, Prince Magombedze and Reginald Saungweme scoring.

The 18’s and 20’s are back in action next week with the rearranged game against Inglewood United – The 18s play on Monday July 19 at the Campus – Kick off 7.00pm – The 20s on Wednesday July 20 at the Campus – 7.00pm

Last week our Women’s State League Division One side were beaten 0-4 by league leaders UWA Nedlands at the Campus. They are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Wishart Street to take on Gwelup Croatia – kick off 11.15am.

Our Amateur women’s side were narrowly edged out 2-3 by Perth AFC last weekend, with goals from Royan Norman and Sara Wright. They will look to bounce back on Sunday when they host UWA Nedlands at Prendiville Catholic College – kick off 1.00pm.

In other Womens program games – The 12s girls’ side are on a two-week break for the school holidays, but took part in the Australind Girls Soccer Carnival, a one-day event held 10th July where they played five games.

“It was a fantastic learning experience against some very good opposition,” Coach Gareth James said. “The team finished joint runners up, losing out on goal difference. The results were:

2-1 (W) vs Perth Saints (Daisy Snowden (2))
1-1 (D) vs Dynamos Dardanup (Daisy Snowden)
2-0 (L) vs Fremantle City
1-0 (W) vs Joondalup City (Harlee Whitehead)
9-0 (L) vs WA State Schoolgirls
The WA State Schoolgirls were invitational only and not eligible to actually win the competition.

They return to league action on Sunday when they host Woodvale at Prendiville Catholic College – kick off 8.30am

The Masters North Division Three side produced another good performance, beating Perth Royals 81- at JA Lee Reserve. Cvete Ristoski bagged four goals, while Igor Arsovski scored a hat-trick, with Kevin Penn scoring the other, the win moving Rick Rancatore’s side into fourth place on the ladder.

They are back in action on Sunday when they Alkimos-Quinns at the Campus – Kick off 3.00pm.

Our NPLWA juniors travelled to Rosalie Park last Sunday, and the under 13s fought out a tight 1-1 draw, with Alfie Hewings scoring, while the 14s drew 0-0. The 15s went down 1-2, while the 16s were beaten 4-1

The 16s were also winners on Wednesday evening, with a brace from Myles Mari giving them a 2-0 win, the win leaving them second on the table.

All sides have now been given positions in Divisions, and how they finished on the table in the first part of the season, this weeks fixtures below:

The 13’s will play in Division One and first up they return to Rosalie Park to take on Subiaco – Kick off 8.15am
Likewise, the 14’s, who also play Subiaco at Rosalie Park – Kick off 9.30am
The 15s are in Division Two and also travel to Subiaco – Kick off 10.45am
The 16s are in Division One and they travel to Britannia Park to take on Floreat Athena – Kick off 12.30pm.
