Posted on July 9, 2021 in 'News'

We head into another exciting weekend of football at the ECU Campus, and it looks like the wet weather will hold off, and there were some excellent performances and results across all teams last week.

Our NPLWA sides games against Inglewood United at the ECU Football Stadium was postponed due to the covid outbreak in the north, this despite the lockdown being lifted.

They are back in action on Saturday when we host Sorrento in the City of Joondalup Derby at the ECU Football Stadium. The under 18s kick off at 11.00am, the 20s at 1.00pm, with the first team kicking off at 3.00pm. Get along and support the Jacks.

Last week our Women’s State League Division One sides game at Alfred Skeet Reserve against Armadale was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. They are back in action on Sunday when they host league leaders UWA Nedlands at the ECU Football Stadium – kick off 3.00pm.

Our Amateur women’s side were narrowly edged out 0-1 by Curtin University last week, but will look to bounce back on Sunday when they host Perth AFC at the ECU Football Stadium – kick off 1.00pm.

In other Womens program games – The 12s girls’ side are on a two-week break for the school holidays.

The Masters North Division Three side produced a stunning come-from-behind 4-3 win away at Floreat Athena. Rick Rancatore’s side found themselves three goals down at half time, but the comeback began on 66 minutes, with Dave Chapman pulling one back, and three minutes later Cvete Ristoski made it 2-3 and game on.

Then on 72 minutes Igor Arsovski brought the Jacks level, and the comeback was completed six minutes from time, with player/coach Rancatore winning it, the win moving the Jacks up to fifth.

They are back in action on Sunday when they make the trip to JA Lee Reserve to take on Perth Royals – Kick off 12.30pm.

Our NPLWA juniors travelled to Gumblossom Park last Sunday, with an exciting u13s game concluding at full time, while the remaining three matches were stopped or postponed due to weather.

The under 13s ran out 1-0 winners, in a tight game, the only goal of the game came from Andrew Bushell. The result leaves the Jacks second, only one point behind leaders Subiaco, with three games in hand.

The 14s had a 4-1 win on Wednesday evening, after their game on Sunday was postponed due to lightning. Jack Connolly scored a brace with Matthew Bowen and Oliver Evans scoring the others. The win moving the Jacks seven points clear at the top of the table.

The 15s game against Quinns will be played on Saturday July 10 – Kick off 9.30am

The 16s were also winners on Wednesday evening, with a brace from Myles Mari giving them a 2-0 win, the win leaving them second on the table.
