Posted on June 11, 2021 in 'News'

It’s been another exciting week of football at the ECU Campus, and there were some excellent performances and results across all teams.

Our NPLWA first team were narrowly beaten 1-2 at home to Cockburn City. Danny Hodgson gave us the lead but the visitors scored twice after half time to take the points. The 20s fought back to draw 1-1 with Cockburn and five minutes from time Danyel Dos Santos De Souza scored the equaliser.

“Last week’s performance saw us grab a point to a resilient Cockburn side that parked the bus from minute one through to minute ninety,” Coach Mark Scanlan said. “An eventful half time interval allowed us to refocus for the second half – which saw us score a late equaliser.”

Our 18s were winners on the day running out 3-0 winners against Cockburn. Josh Kingston opening the scoring on seven minutes, and Brayden Tierney doubling their advantage on 25 minutes. The points were wrapped up twenty minutes from time with Fabiano De Abreu added the third.
