There were mixed results for the ECU Joondalup SC Women’s and Masters sides last weekend.

The Women’s got back in the winners’ circle after a 5-0 win against Gosnells City in week 11 of the Women’s State League Division One at the ECU Football Stadium.

They were out of the blocks early scoring twice in the opening eight minutes, Frankie Murray with the first, before Rozina Kebede adding the second. It was 4-0 at the break with Murray and Kebede both adding their second.

After the break the Jacks continued to dominate and in the final minute Kebede completed her hat-trick to warp up a comprehensive win.

“I thought first half today we tried to play in the right way moving the ball around going in at half time 4-0 up,” Head Coach Terry Maton said.

“Second half I think we took our foot of the pedal and started to rush our decision making in the final third. But it was good to give some players game time who have been short on minutes these last few weeks.

“Great to see Rozi grab herself a hat-trick, and another two for Frankie – Onwards and Upwards Girls.”

They are back in action on Sunday when they host Sorrento in the local derby at the ECU Football Stadium – kick off 3.00pm

It was a disappointing 0-3 loss for the Masters side against Hamersley Rovers in week 11 of the Belt-Up Masters North Division One at the ECU Football Stadium.

They found themselves behind 0-1 at the break and down to ten men with Peter Vukmirovic sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

Rovers made their numerical advantage count after the break bagging two more goals to seal the win. They will look to bounce back when they host Quinns at the ECU Football Stadium on Sunday – kick off 1.00pm
