Former Jacks keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer was handed a Charlton Athletic first team start as the Addicks were beaten 2-1 by AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday evening in the EFL Trophy at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The 21-year-old was in sparking form early, getting down well to deny Ryan Longman in the third minute, and he made sure they would go into the break with a lead in the shadows of half time, when he made a superb save to keep out Shane McLoughlin’s point-blank header.

But he couldn’t do a lot about the two second half goals from Adam Roscrow and former Addick Terrell Thomas that won it for the hosts.
