ECU Joondalup play their last game of first phase of the NPL-WA season when they host Balcatta at the ECU Football Stadium in Week 11.

Kenny Lowe’s side need a win to qualify for the top six, and the coach said they have been in good form. “We have worked extremely hard over the last month to get in a position where we can qualify for the top six when the league splits after Saturday’s game,” he said.

“We are coming off three good wins and are unbeaten in four, and in the last home game we totally dominated a good Perth SC side and deservedly won the game.

“Some of the Football we played was very pleasing, and it was the whole squad that produced on the day, with the players who came off the bench also contributing to the win.

“We need to continue that performance on Saturday against Balcatta, who have been very competitive this season without reward.”

Midfielder Tom Hough has been pivotal in the Jacks run of form, and he said Balcatta are a good side and they will need to be at their best to get the win. “Balcatta are always a good side and will give us a tough game,” he said.

“It’s vital for us to get three points to secure our position in the top six, but we’re in a good patch of form winning our last three games so we will be up for the game hopefully walking away with another win.”

Skipper Johnny Perkins has been added to the squad after recovering from injury. “I was back to full training this week and back available for selection on Saturday,” the keeper explained.

“The lads are looking forward to the match, and although they haven’t had the results you can see Balcatta have made it difficult for teams this year so we know we have to play well to win.

“Our football has been fluid and the process has been clicking over the past four to five weeks, and training has been great off the back off the last few weeks results and everyone is really focused to get a positive result Saturday.” – ‘The Pride of the North’
