After last weeks first win in the NPLWA Night Series, the Jacks head to E&D Litis Stadium to take on the unbeaten Floreat Athena in Week 3 on Saturday evening. (7.00pm)

Head Coach Kenny Lowe was happy to get off the mark last week and said they deserved the points.  “We were worthy winners last week against Cockburn, and it’s always good to get that first win,” he said.

“We are still a work in progress, but there were some good signs in the opening two games of the Night Series, and we will need to continue that good form on Saturday against an inform Floreat.

“The preseason is all about getting the squad ready for the NPLWA season, and we know Floreat are flying at the moment, so it will go a good guide to see where we are at.”

Danny Hodgson first goal for the club, on his debut, won it for the Jacks at Cockburn, and he said they will be looking to take that form into Saturday’s game against Floreat. “We’ve worked hard this week at training and we’re ready for a tough game against Floreat,” he said.

“Floreat are a good side and it will be a very hard game, and they always have a good go at the Night Series competition, and have won it back-to-back. But we ready for the challenge and hopefully we can do something similar to Saturday, that’s stay organised, work hard, and if we do that, we can get the win.”

Charlie Kenna said the win at Cockburn was good for the confidence of the side going forward. “The club has definitely changed the last two weeks, but training has been very good and we’ve signed few new players,” he said.

“Last week I thought we were the better team against Cockburn and deservedly took the three points , but at the moment we’re just looking for good performance from our squad and we’re building for the first game off the NPL season, and a tough game against Floreat is a great to continue that, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
