ECU Joondalup under 14’s will have a new sponsor on their shirts this season after Edith Cowan University School of Business and Law became sponsors of the team.

The University is committed to engaging with the local and wider community through meaningful and sustainable partnerships, and The School of Business and Law will be working closely with the side and this exciting sport business partnership will assist both the club and the players, as well the School’s work-integrated learning students.

ECU Joondalup SC Football Operations manager Steve Amphlett said the cub are delighted with the commitment from University. “ECU Joondalup SC are delighted with the continued relationship building between club and the University, strengthening our partnership even further, in particular, we must thank the School of Medical and Health Science for Sponsoring our U14 Academy team,” he said.

“The club already has Mark Scanlan employed as the club’s Technical Director and Fiona Iredale, overseeing our Technical, Football Coaching and Sports Medicine roles.

“We also have ECU alumni and current students filling voluntary and practicum positions at the club so the future looks very bright and we must make a special mention to Rob Newton and Michael Henderson for opening up new avenues of co-operation and helping to make this happen.”

Dr Ruth Sibson, Course Coordinator Sport, Event, Tourism and Hospitality Management at ECU says it is an exciting opportunity for both the club and the School.

“As a School, we strive to make a positive difference in the local community. This sponsorship is a great opportunity for the Sport, Recreation and Event Management program at ECU to engage with and support a local soccer club with the delivery and management of their sport.”

“We wish the Club all the best for their season and look forward to working with and supporting them in there on and off-field endeavours.”

ECU Joondalup Soccer Club’s Technical Director of Football, Mark Scanlan says the sponsorship is just the beginning of collaborations between ECU and the club.

“We’re very grateful to have the School of Business & Law on board as a sponsor this season, we’re very excited about this new relationship and hope to be able to announce further collaborations with the school in the not too distant future.”
