Jacks host the inform Glory in NPL WA

It’s week four of the NPL WA and this week the Jacks entertain the inform Perth Glory at the ECU Football Stadium on Saturday afternoon. (3.00pm)

The Jacks conceded a late goal to draw at Cockburn City last week, while Glory thumped Armadale 5-0, but Head Coach Dale McCulloch said it was a good performance from his chargers.

“It was a real disappointing end to our game at Cockburn last week, but I was really proud of the players because we went there with a game plan and they all worked their socks off to take the lead,” he explained.

“So, to leave with just a point was cruel on them, but it was it is and move on to Saturday’s game against a good Glory side. They have been impressive this season, like they were last season, when we had two very competitive games against them, and Saturday will be no different.”

Midfielder Tom Hough came in for his start of the season at Cockburn, and scored the goal, and he said the players were gutted to leave with just one point. “I thought we played well against Cockburn and deserved more than a point,” he said.

“It was difficult going down to 10 men but we defended well and stayed solid, and it was disappointing to concede a goal late into added time, the lads were gutted.”

Hough knows the challenge in front of them on Saturday, with Glory starting to hit their straps, but he said the players are determined to get the three points and get their season started.

“Perth Glory are a good team and have had a good start to the season, and we’ve had some tight games against them and I’m sure Saturday will be the same,” he said.

“We’ve had a few unlucky draws this season, but I know that we’re all up for the game on Saturday and will be looking to get the three points.”
