ECU Joondalup have begun their 2019 NPL Night Series with a 1-2 loss against Perth SC at E&D Litis Stadium on Friday evening.

We looked on course for a win when Jackson Morgan was sent off by referee Matthew Southern, but Perth SC had other ideas. New signing Michael Domfeh levelled eight minutes from time, his first goal since joining the club from Perth Glory.

It looked like the points would be shared but in the final minute Niccolò Sabatini popped up and scored to give Perth the points.

“It was really disappointing not to have come away with the win,” Jacks skipper Johnny Perkins said.

“The dressing room was hurting because we have set high standards at the club, but with that said there was plenty of positives to take away and work on from the first 70 minutes.

“We do have some valuable lessons to learn from the last 20, but we dust ourselves off put the graft in in training and move forward to next Friday against Sorrento.”
