ECU Joondalup Soccer Club would like to congratulate Under 16’s NPL keeper Logan Muirhead who has flown out with the under 16’s state schoolboys’ team to play in the Australian Championship in Burpengary Queensland.

The 16-year-old, who has appeared for the Jacks under 18’s, 20’s and has also been on the bench for the first team in 2019, also narrowly missed a spot on the u19s state team on their tour to Asia, so the future looks bright for the young man with the big voice.

“Yes, it’s good to get selected and be able to test my ability against the best players from every other state,” the young keeper explained. “It’s been really good the past season and a half at ECU, it was good to get the opportunity to play up in senior squad this year and is a major factor in my development this year.”

Not a bad season so far for the youngster, with the Jacks under 16’s, making the top league in the play offs, and this after only arrived in Perth two and half years ago from Scotland, where he played for Galston youth FC, Hurldford Boys club, Park Villa boys club and a season at Kilmarnock FC

He played in WA first game of the competition today, but unfortunately, they were beaten, but the youngster is looking forward to the rest of the competition. “This is the first time I’ve been selected in a WA state squad, and I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “All the games will be shown live on School Spot Queensland YouTube channel if anyone wants to watch them.”
