Congratulations goes out to two of our very talented Junior Development Squad players Callum Aisling (U11) and Zac Scrivens (U10) who have both been selected in the Western Australian State Team to compete in NSW at the National Cross Country Championships next month.

Callum is an amazing sportsman with a fabulous attitude who not only excels on the soccer pitch but for the past 3 years has also excelled in athletics and recently won the state title for Cross Country for the under 11’s in a blistering time.

Zac is also an amazing sportsman, determined and very competitive always striving to be the best he can be. Zac has had many achievements in sport locally and through state competitions, this year coming second in the state Cross Country for the under 10’s. Zac’s passion for running stemmed from playing soccer initially he started running to help with his fitness on the pitch.

John Brown, Manager of Junior Development at ECU says he would like to thank Callum and Zac’s coach Mark Aisling for always considering their ECU commitments and ensuring their running training works alongside their football. John says; “There are a few ECU boys who train with Mark and their fitness and speed on the pitch is outstanding, their work rate is constant and this is giving them an edge over their competition on a Sunday, well done boys.

On behalf of ECU Joondalup Soccer Club we wish Callum and Zac all the best in New South Wales.

To help towards the financial cost of this trip Callum and Zac both have “Go Fund Me” pages. Please see the links below if you would like to support the boys, I am sure they would both be very appreciative.
