It’s been a successful season for the ECU Joondalup under 14’s. They won league and the Conference title by six points, and had a 4-1 win in the Cup Final against Balcatta.

Coach of the side is Jesse Hesford, who is in last season at the club, and he said it’s been a great season by his talented side.

“We started the journey in November of last year when our first pre-Christmas training session took place in Carine. That’s where we got to meet all the new faces for the 14’s and 15’s to start building for the season ahead,” he explained.

“More than 250 hours on the training ground later the 14’s has deservedly won the league and cup double with the 15’s having the chance to win the league in the final game on Sunday.”

Hesford, who has teamed up with Wille Herd to form a formidable partnership in the age groups, said it’s been great to see some his young players make it to senior football at the club.

“To be completely honest, the most rewarding aspect for Willie and I is seeing them all individually develop with players experiencing senior football and several players experiencing senior football and other younger players having to step up to fill their void,” he explained.

“We have 13 players across the two age groups representing the state teams at Coffs Harbour this year that’s what gives us the most pride. A season to remember but most importantly a reminder of the outcomes that come from hard work and commitment. Well done lads!”
