Jacks travel to Inglewood in FFA Cup

It’s a huge weekend for the Jacks and on Easter Monday they travel to the Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium to take on fellow NPL side Inglewood United in the Fourth Round of the Westfield FFA Cup. (3pm)

Also on Monday the Under 18’s and 20’s are in State League Cup action when they host Mandurah City at the ECU Football Stadium. The under 18’s kick off at 10.30am while the under 20’s kick off at 12.45pm

The Jacks will be looking for a good FFA Cup run, but assistant coach David Tough said it will be difficult for both clubs having to back up from the league game, the Jacks host Stirling on Saturday.

“We’ve had some tight games over the last few season and I’m sure this will be no different,” he said.

“Both squads will be tested having the two games in to three days but we feel like we’ve got one of the strongest squads we’ve had at the club for a number of years. We’ll be confident of a strong performance with whichever team is selected.”

It’s a return to Inglewood for Adam Tong, who joined the Jacks from them this season, and he said it is going to be a tough weekend.

“The boys will be looking forward to one game at a time and coming this Saturday is a tough battle against a Stirling side who are desperate for a win,” he said.

“So we need to be focused like every game and be well disciplined as they have a talented squad who will be out to prove a few points. We will be looking to keep our unbeaten run going for as long as possible so it’s going to be a tough match but the boys are up for it.

“The game on Monday is going to be a cracker as well. I feel they haven’t started yet and I know Andy will be putting the through there paces and demanding more, but hopefully get a win Saturday and we go there with our heads high and full of confidence I’m sure we can have a great Easter.”
