ECU Joondalup will begin their new season in January, after being drawn in Pool 1 for the 2019 NPL Night Series.

The Jacks, along with Champions Perth SC, newly promoted Rockingham City, Inglewood United, Sorrento and Stirling Lions are in Pool 1 – While Armadale, Perth Glory, Cockburn City, Balcatta, Floreat Athena and Bayswater City are in Pool 2.

The first game will see Dale McCulloch’s side take on Perth SC at E&D Litis Stadium on Friday January 25 – 6.30pm kick off, before taking on local rivals Sorrento at Percy Doyle Reserve on Friday February 1 – 8.30pm kick off in Round Two.

In round three the Jacks take on Stirling Lions at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium on Saturday February 9 – 5.00pm, before taking on Inglewood United at Frank Drago Reserve on Friday 15 February – 6.30pm kick off in Round four.

In round five the Jacks will take on new NPL side Rockingham City at Frank Drago Reserve on Saturday February 23 – 5.00pm kick off.

Jacks new skipper Johnny Perkins will come up against his former club, Stirling Lions, in round three and he is looking forward to the new season. “The draw is exciting, but it didn’t really matter to us. The boys are just excited to get started, and the night series brings a competitive edge that friendlies just can’t match,” he said

“There are lots of new faces, we have recruited some quality youth and some experienced lads too. They have been putting the hard work in, but the technical aspects have been sharp. Everyone has slotted in easily too which isn’t a surprise.

“It’s always good to play against old teams, and I have a great relationship with the players there. It doesn’t matter who I play though, the objective is always to try keep clean sheets and win games and that’s no different against Stirling.”
