ECU Joondalup skipper Daryl Nicol and Shane Cassidy have both been rewarded for stellar seasons at the campus by being selected in the WA State League squad to play A-League side Perth Glory in a friendly next week.

Jacks Head Coach Dale McCulloch said it is great for the pair. “Really pleased for Daryl and Shane, both have been outstanding for us this season,” McCulloch said.

“It’s a great opportunity for the pair to go up against the Glory and show the supporters there is some talent in the NPL, we wish them all the best and hope they come back injury free.”

Every NPL WA club has a player involved except for Glory and Belt Up Cup winners Armadale, who are in FFA Cup action against Cairns in Queensland on the same night.

Gwelup Croatia’s Benny Kouakou is the only current non-NPL player in the 22-man squad. Football West Head of Development Jamie Harnwell will coach the side with Brad Hassell his assistant. The match takes place at Inglewood United’s Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium at 7pm on Wednesday, August 1. It is free entry.
