ECU Joondalup SC juniors were in PS4NPLWA and Football West action last week – Below are the results on another fantastic weekend of football from the youngsters. (Photo – Under 9′s North Socceroos in action v Carramar)

Under 9’s North Socceroos v Carramar – won 5-0 – Scorers Henry Knight 3, Will Carter and Luka Harvey – Another good performance and the boys remain undefeated this season – Well done!!!!!!

Under 10’s North Blue v Joondalup City – Won 1-0 –  Scorer Ballah

The boys were on top throughout the first half making the JCFC keeper work hard with the odd attack here and there being easily defended by ECU. The second half was a closer affair with strong defending from Keanu Gomes, Rocco Watson and Kole Robinson. Our attacking play continued throughout with some fine saves and near misses thwarting our chances. At the other end Sonny Inzalaco made some fantastic saves with three one on ones and a few more point blank saves to keep the score 0-0.  In the end it was a fantastic move between Callum Fleming and Oliver Evans resulting in a superb finish from Roland Ballah to win us the game 1-0.  The celebration from all the ECU players was as good as the goal itself. Under 11’s North Blue v Bayswater City – won 15-0 –  Scorers – Mason Parke 4, Will Brannan 4, Taylor Phoenix-Wright 3, Aidan Samsworth, Jake Bethnell, Alfie Henriques, Copeland Thain

Under 12’s v Balcatta won 1-0 – Scorers – Louis Hadfield – A screamer of a free kick!!!!

Under 13’s v Balcatta won 3-2 – Scorers – Phoenix Lee 2 and Jacob Evans

“We weren’t at our best Sunday and in all honesty were lucky to get something out of the game against a good Balcatta side,” Coach Nik Silsby said. “A big learning curve for the boys as they thought things would just happen but I have to give them some credit as they showed plenty of character to come back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to score two goals in the last 15 minutes.  Balcatta also missed a penalty at 2-2.”

Under 14’s v Balcatta won 2-0 – Scorers Cody Psalia and Massimo Bresciani

“The boys controlled the tempo and ball for the entire first half. Best start of a game so far this season although it was important for us to get two early goals as we have struggled to kill games off,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “We let Balcatta back in the game second half but limited them to only a few half chances. A good all round performance and improvement again from last week.”

Under 15’s v Balcatta won 1-0 – Scorers Fraser Dunlop

A determined and defensively well organised Balcatta made of game of this one. They pressed relentlessly from the front and put us under pressure first half. We struggled to create clear chances on goal but knew they wouldn’t be able to persist with there intensity all game long,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “Late in the second half we got on top and our fitness started to show. We created great chances to go ahead and got our just rewards when Fraser controlled it well in the box, got a yard off his marker and finished clinically. A well fought out win.”

Under 16’s v Balcatta won 4-1 – Scorers – Daniel Mackenzie 2, Dor Jok 2
