The ECU Junior were all in action last week in PS4NPLWA and Football West games below is a wrap of the games and comments on the games: Well done to everyone!!!!!

Under 9’s ECU v Ellenbrook – Won 5-2 – Scorers – Luka Harvey 2, James Walsh, Henri Knight and Alti Oskarsson

Under 10’s – N/A

Under 11’s North Blue v Subiaco – Won 11-1 – Scorers – Mason Parke 3, Alfie Knight 2, Alfie Henriques, Taylor Wright, Jake Bethell, Will Brennan, Ryan Hull, Cope Thain

Under 12’s v Sorrento – Won 2-1 – Scorers Louis Hadfield and Sam Hamilton – “Another big win for the boys in the local derby, a solid team performance once again,” Coach Gordon Smith said.”

Under 13’s v Sorrento – Won 4-0 – Scorers Jacob Evans, Mason Gallagher, Kane McEwan and Toby Snook – “We came away from the local derby against Sorrento with a 4-0 win.  It was an impressive performance from the boys.  Second half goals from Jacob Evans, Mason Gallagher, Kane McEwan and Toby Snook saw us home,” Coach Nik Silsby said. “We controlled much of the game against a good opponent.  We knocked the ball around well, limited them to two shots on goal for the entire game and our pace and movement up front was exceptional.  It was very pleasing for the second week running that the goals were from four different players. The boys are training exceptionally well and this is showing in their performances on match day. – A good all round team performance.”

Under 14’s v Sorrento – Drew 1-1 – Scorer Massimo Bresciani – “The lads started off the game slowly with neither team injecting much urgency into the play. A few chances each end but Sorrento went into the break 1-0 up. The second half was a different story and the boys played a good passing game linking up the play from back to front and creating chances on goal,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “Massimo playing well all game scored a deserved goal direct from a wide free kick to level the scores. A special mention goes to Jack Doyle who stepped up this week to be the best player on the park. The sort of response we are looking for from players in this team and as I say every week a lot more to come from this side.

Under 15’s v Sorrento – Won 3-2 Scorers – Evan Gurney, Fraser Dunlop and Kade Fearnall. “It was a typical Derby match with goals, physicality and aggression. The lads started well and executed their football as we have come to expect. Moving the ball quickly and making the right decisions at the right moments. Sorrento however was there to give us a game and pressed aggressively early on. They took the lead against the run of play and the boys could have easily dropped their heads but this team’s character has developed into one of a strong belief in their game,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “This belief drove them towards a 2-1 lead in the second half coming through a powerful shot piercing the keepers’ gloves by the returning Fraser Dunlop. Credit to Sorrento who came back to level the scores. However with 10 minutes to go and only being back on the pitch for 30 seconds Kade Fearnall found the back of the net to give us a narrow win against the visiting Sorrento and gave us bragging rights until next time after an entertaining game.”

Under 16’s v Sorrento – Won 4-3 – Scorers Daniel Mackenzie 3, Roisin Connolly – “A good win especially after we had Dor Jok sent off with 20 minutes to go,” Coach Ross Kelly said. “We are improving but we need to stop conceding as many soft goals and letting teams back in the game.”
