After the resignation of Andy Petterson as ECU Joondalup SC Technical Director of Football, the club are delighted to announce that Steve McGarry has been appointed as his replacement.

The 37-year-old was born in Paisley, Scotland and played over 150 games for Scottish side St Mirren, over 100 games for Ross County, and 90 for Motherwell before heading to Perth Glory in 2010. He had four successful seasons at the A-League club, before joining Gwelup Croatia and then joining the Jacks in 2016 as a player/assistant coach.

McGarry is delighted to take up his new role and is looking forward to developing some future stars from the clubs junior ranks.

Jacks Director of Football Steve Amphlett said McGarry is a perfect replacement. “Steven has brought professionalism to the club, both on and off the pitch, and his appointment is a fantastic opportunity for him and the club,” he said.

“Steven knowledge of the game is immense and his experience playing top flight football in Scotland and at Perth Glory is something he can instill in the young players coming through our successful academy.

“He will continue the good work started by Andy (Petterson) and we wish him the best in the new role.”
