The ECU Joondalup Junior PS4 NPLWA side were in action on the weekend against Subiaco – Results below:

Under 12’s – Drew 1-1 – A good performance from the youngsters in a close game – The scorer on the day was Liam Powley with a good free kick

Under 13’s – Lost 0-3 – “The boys put in a better performance than the previous week and we conceded three goals from a free kick and two penalties,” coach Nik Silsby  We battled well with 10 men for the last twenty minutes but credit to SUBIACO who are a good side and well organised. Good performances from Fletcher Ellerton, Mattie Kondo and debutant Reece Bantleman. We move on and look forward to playing against a good Stirling Lions side this weekend

Under 14’s – Drew 0-0 – “Another controlled performance by the lads who had most of the possession and switched the ball well. Subiaco were well drilled and organised which made it difficult to break them down however these are the challenges the players must relish,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “Having all the possession does not win you games and the team have to be more creative and inventive in the final third with big chance and shot numbers lower than desired. A lot of positives but nowhere near their best.”

Under 15’s – Won 4-1 – “A very well rounded performance and much improved midfield display this week. The football from front to back was well-structured and it allowed us to create chance after chance for big Ben Hinshelwood (right) who finished with four,” Coach Jesse Hesford said. “Although it was disappointing to concede a sloppy goal this team are very well balanced and only get better and better every week. Willie and I are very much looking forward to seeing them progress throughout the season.

Under 16’s – Lost 1-3 – Scorer Wade Blake – “We were out-muscled on Sunday, against a well-organised Subiaco side,” Coach Willie Kelly said. “It’s a huge learning curve for the boys, but we are starting to get players back and look forward to Stirling on Sunday.” The sides are back in action next Sunday when they host Stirling Lions at the ECU Football Stadium
