The ECU Junior were all in action last week in PS4NPLWA and Football West games below is a wrap of the games: Well done to everyone!!!!!

(Unfortunately we have been told by Football West – we can’t give scores for Mini-Roo games on our web site of match day programmes)

NPL Junior Results last week – Round 13.

Under 12’s v Perth Glory – Drew 2-2 – The top of the table clash ends in a drew

Under 13’s v Perth Glory – Won 2-0 – “The 13’s came away from a tough game against Perth Glory with a 2-0 win on Sunday.  Goals came from Matsuki Kondo (with a volley into the top corner from 20 metres) and a neat finish from Toby Snook after a great run and cross into the box from Kane McEwan,” Coach Nik Silsby said. “The boys worked extremely hard at training during the week and this reflected in our performance on Sunday.  There were a few nerves before the game as the boys wanted to show how far they had come since losing to Glory 6-1 earlier in the season but once we settled I thought we were the better side throughout and limited glory to only a few shots from outside the box and created several good chances. Defensively we were sound and kept our shape reasonably well whilst our midfield and front three were full of energy.  All credit to every single player, they showed plenty of heart and character and whilst at times we battled through without playing our normal style of passing football we came away with the 3 points.  Well done boys”

Under 14’s v Perth Glory – Won 4-0 – Scorers – Massimo Bresciani 2, Sebastian Gomez 1, Aidan Coyne – “A solid outing for the boys with good individual showings all round. Early on we played too narrow and didn’t get our wide players receiving in space. Once we settled into our shape the game opened up and we took enough of our chances to win the game comfortably,” said Coach Jesse Hesford, “A special mention to Jerome West who introduced himself to the team with a brilliant debut performance. This Saturday we play Quinns-Stirling in the cup and league respectively and will be looking for much of the same to keep the momentum going.” The win keeps the 14’s in third spot only two points off the leaders.

Under 15’s v Perth Glory – Drew 1-1 – Scorer – Fraser Dunlop – “A goal leaked from an early corner and scramble in the box wasn’t the start we were looking for. However we didn’t show any nerves and before half time we had levelled the scores through a clinical finish from Fraser and were pushing to get the second. It was a cagey game and there wasn’t much space or time to play with both teams pressing high up the pitch,” said Coach Jesse Hesford. “We had a few chances to take all three points but as is the way at the moment the goals aren’t coming as easy as we would like. A tough cup match vs Balcatta on Saturday followed by a big game vs Stirling Lions Sunday during which I strongly believe we can make a statement to the league. We have the quality it’s all about going out there and playing to our strengths. We do that and I have no doubts this team will produce the goods.” The draw keeps the 15’s in third spot only six points off the leaders.

Under 16’s v Perth Glory – Lost 1-5 – The loss keeps the 16’s in third, but they are still only four points of the leaders.
