In the first season of the ‘Credentia Construction’ Player of the Season, the result went down to the wire, with five first team players in the mix for the ECU Website Player of the Year.

After each game we asked three people to give 3, 2, 1 on the player they thought were the best and the top five were Tommy Amphlett, Andy Higgins, Steven McGarry, Ryan Lowry, but the winner was striker Gordon Smith, who polled regularly all season to pip the Captain to the award.

In the under 20’s goalkeeper Todd Hoyle won the award, the shot stopper made vital saves all season as the under 20’s surged up the table, only to miss out on a top four spot on goal difference.

In the under 18’s big defender Neill Gillies was the winner. He was outstanding at the back helping the 18’s into the top four finals, and also popped up with some vital goals during the season.

Congratulations to the trio and they will receive their trophies at a later date.
