Moon shines in Armadale win

A man of the match performance from new Scottish midfielder Kevin Moon, topped of a good win for the Jacks against Armadale at Alfred Skeet Reserve last weekend.

Moon has settled in well since joining the club in the transfer window, and in his second first team game the former St Johnstone and Raith Rovers midfielder was outstanding and he said it was a good team performance.

“It was a difficult pitch and it didn’t suit our game, as we like to get the ball down and play football, but we showed another side of our game today, with fight and determination, and I thought we showed great character and dug in to get the three points,” he said.

“Three clean sheets on the bounce now, and that give the side a great deal of confidence, and today I thought the back four were outstanding, and they throw the kitchen sink at us late in the game, but we were solid and I believe the more we play together the better we will become.”

Moon was pleased for former Raith Rovers team mate and Jacks striker Gordon Smith for a quality finish to win the game, but said they had a laugh about his other chances.

“It was a great finish from Gordy, although it was probably the hardest chance he had today,” he joked.

“But credit to him he kept making those darting runs and kept going, and got the goal in the end and thoroughly deserved it.”

Moon will be in the Jacks side when they take on Subiaco on Saturday in Week 14 of the PS4 NPLWA.
