Despite opening their season with a 0-2 loss at Sorrento, new signing and assistant Coach Steven McGarry said there were positives to come out of the loss.

McGarry, along with Joseph Jones, Harley Orr and David Keenan, made their debuts for the club, and the former Perth Glory midfielder said they played some good football and will get better, as they gel. “We had a game plan against Sorrento and in the first half we were well in the game and they only looked dangerous from set pieces,” he said.

“We had a couple of good chances, and if we had taken them it could have been a different result.”

“We know they (Sorrento) would be dangerous from set pieces and we’ve worked hard at training for that, so it was disappointing to concede two from set-pieces.

“After the break was a different story, we have to be better defensively, and that’s as a team, when were under pressure we need to close it down and we didn’t do that.

“We didn’t create too many chances in the second half but there were still positives to come from the game, so we move forward and look forward to Saturday’s game against Armadale
