Jacks skipper Ryan Lowry put in another magnificent performance on Saturday in the 5-4 win against Floreat Athena, leading the side to the Preliminary Final against Inglewood United on Wednesday.

He said the lads had to work for it, but I was proud of the way we never gave up. “We dug deep today as a team, and although we were behind I didn’t think we were going to lose that game,” he explained. “We had the belief and the quality in each other and we got the job done.”

Going into half time two down, after dominating the first half was hard to take but Lowry said they never lost focus. “That’s what happens when you don’t take your chances, you get punished at the other end, but credit to Floreat they took them,” he said

“It was a squad effort today, and everyone, including the players coming off the bench, put in a good shift, but we move on and we’re now focused on Inglewood on Wednesday, and do the job there.”

It wasn’t a good day for the Jacks defence letting in four goals, but Lowry said it’s the result at the end of the match that matters. “As long as we get the win I don’t care how many we concede, probably Dale and Toughie would be on the side line,” he joked. “

“We are now really focused on the next game; we have a beach recovery session in the morning, and hope to put our best side out on Wednesday at Inglewood.”
