Jacks one win away from Grand Final

After Saturday’s amazing win in the West Australian Top Four Cup Minor Semi-final against Floreat Athena, the Jacks travel to Inglewood Stadium to take on Inglewood United in the Preliminary Final on Wednesday evening. (8.30pm)

Dale McCulloch’s side won at the same venue in the final PS4 NPLWA game of the season, a hard fought 1-0 win, and McCulloch said he is expecting another tough encounter on Wednesday.

“We scored in the last minute last time we played Inglewood, and it was a game that could have gone either way, but again the character of this side shone through,” he said.

“I’ve the up most respect for Taki Nicolaidis, and I’m well aware he will have his side pumped for the game, but so will we.”

McCulloch said the season has been a huge success for the club, and they are unbeaten in the last 13 games, but he said they haven’t finished yet. “We set goals at the start of the season, and to be in the top four was where we wanted to be, and we’ve achieved that,” he said.

“We now have the opportunity to reach a Grand Final, and we’ll be doing all we can to do that. We’ve prepared well and have done all we can to recover from Saturday’s game and we will be giving our all to keep this run going.”

Midfielder Steven McGarry said they have recovered well and are ready for another battle on Wednesday and is hoping the Jacks fans get behind the team. “It’s always a tough game against Inglewood, and we will be reviewing the last game we played against them on Tuesday night at training and working on various ways we can exploit them,” he said.

“We are ready and will be doing all we can to reach the Grand Final, and it would be great to see as many ECU fans down at Inglewood as possible. The backing from the stands in the latter part of the season has been great, and they can definitely help us get over the line.”

Get along to the Inglewood Stadium, Hamer Parade, Inglewood – and cheers the Jacks on – Kick off is 8.30pm
