The ECU Joondalup steam train keeps moving on, and after last week’s 1-0 win against Perth Glory it moved the Jacks into fifth place only three points out of the top four and this week they make the trip to the Finance 365 Stadium to take on last season’s Champions Bayswater City. (3pm)

Bayswater City suffered a loss last week against Perth SC, and they will look to bounce back when they entertain Jacks, the loss dropped them to fourth, only three points ahead of Dale McCulloch’s side, while the Jacks continued their unbeaten run, which is up to nine games now, the latest win was the hard fought 1-0 win against Perth Glory last week.

The Coach said they had to work for it. “We’ve spoke all week about last week’s game and where we think we went wrong, and like I said we probably got away with one, but the work rate and commitment of the players was outstanding, and to win the game while we were a little flat shows what determination we have in the dressing room,” he said.

“We’ve been on a good run and that doesn’t come over night, the work the players have put in at training and match day’s over that period is a credit to them. Not many people had us in their top four, but we have a number of teams looking over their shoulder now, but we know there is a long way to go.”

McCulloch said they now have three Cup Final to end the season if they are to reach the end of season finals, and he said they are leaving no stone unturned to do so. “The lads have trained really well this week and competition for places is intense, and that is great to see,” he explained. “Going to Bayswater is a huge task for us, but we’re playing with confidence at the moment and we fear no one,”

“We know what is expected, and we know we can’t slip up in any of our reminding games, but we have a great comradery in the player group at the moment, so we’ll see what happens, were ready for the challenge.” In team news Tommy Amphlett returns to the side after missing last week due to suspension, but Henry Durr and Jayden Drummond miss out.
