ECU Joondalup are pleased to announce the appointment of David Tough as assistant first team coach for 2016.

The 36-year-old led the under 20’s to cup success in 2010 and 2011 and runners-up in the league in 2011 in his last stint at the club, and then went on to coach Wanneroo City to the Division One title in 2014, before heading back to Scotland. (Right – Tough celebrates the 2011 Cup Final win)

He has returned to Perth now with his wife Kirsty and kids, and jumped at the chance to return to ECU when asked. “After speaking to the club and hearing their plans and ambition for next season, it was an easy decision,” Tough said. “I really enjoyed my spell at the club and since leaving they have always made my family feel welcome. I’m looking forward to getting started and I’m confident we’ll be much improved next season.”

David will work with Senior Coach Dale McCulloch and David Annall, and the coach said he is looking forward to working with Tough. “David did a magnificent job when he was at the club last time and we’re delighted he has headed back for 2016,” he said.

“He joined Wanneroo and against all odds won the First Division title with them and it showed what a good coach he is, and like I said we’re delighted he has re-joined us.

“We will sit down soon to sort out our schedule for pre-season, and the hard work starts then, as we look to improve on last season’s 10th place finish.”

Welcome back David – for leaving it must be a fine!!!!!
