ECU Joondalup host Stirling Lions in week 19 of the PS4 National Premier League WA on Saturday at the ECU Football Stadium. (3pm)

Last week’s win against Armadale gave the whole club a lift, and it was made even better with all teams winning on the day.

ECU Coach Dale McCulloch said the attitude of players was fantastic. “Coming off the heavy defeat against Floreat Athena, the players could have been down and roll over, but they never,” he said.

“The Tuesday after the Floreat game was the best session we’ve had for a while, the players were magnificent and we played like we trained at Armadale on Saturday and deservedly won the game.”

McCulloch believes the younger players within his squad are blossoming and said they go into Saturday’s game against Stirling Lions looking for the three points and to finish the season off on a high. “The young players have made a huge step this season, they have probably been brought in a little early, but with our situation we had to do it,’ he explained.

“But I was confident they could do a job for me and they haven’t let me down and they have all worked their socks off for me.

“It’s been a while since we beat the Lions but we are up for this game. We’ve only won once at home this season, and that’s something we need to change. We need to turn the campus into a fortress and a win on Saturday will start that.”

In team news skipper Jon Higgins and Paul Miller are available again after suspension, but Stuart Montgomery is in doubt, after limping off early last week.

Stirling have performed well this season and will be looking to get back in the winners circle after 1-1 draw against Subiaco AFC at Macedonia Park  last week.

In their side, young keepers Lance Alavakis and Joel Driscoll are vying for the starting role, while in front of them  they have Nathan Bowden-Hasse,  Tim Hill, Steve Purton, Billy Quinncroft and Kyan Nunes.

In the middle of the park skipper Miki Vujacic is pivotal at set pieces, and they have Daniel Micevski, Brodie Martin, Anthony Bafobusha and Robert Petkov, while up front they have Lawrence Shuruma, Teeboy Kamara, the lively Moses Kalau and Shane Malcolm
