ECU Joondalup under 15’s played their second and third games of their UK tour this week, when they took on EPL Academy sides West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. The youngsters have had a great week in the West Midlands, which included seats for the English Premier League clash between WBA and Southampton.

Training has been good at the Villa academy and they went into the game against WBA on Tuesday, ready for a big test against one of the best academy teams in the UK. After a tight first half, ECU found themselves 2-0 at the break, with WBA stronger, faster and better than the Villa side the youngsters met last week.

After the break ECU held their own and defended stoutly, but WBA added a third, and pressed late to add more, but a good display from the side kept them at bay. It was a great learning curve for the youngsters and they played their part in a good game.

On Thursday they took on Wolves, and the EPL side opened the scoring early, but ECU recovered and played well and created a few half chances but failed to convert them. Then just before the break, Wolves added a second. ECU looked good after the break and had Wolves on the back foot, again not taking their chances, and the game finished 2-0.

The youngsters hit the training track again today (No rest for the wicked as they say!!), at the Aston Villa training ground, and they have seats for the West Midlands derby when Villa take on WBA at Villa Park on Saturday.
