ECU Joondalup Academy Results – Week 7

The ECU Joondalup Academy teams were in action against Armadale in Week seven of the PS4 National Premier League WA last weekend. Here are the results and coaches comments on the games.


Under 12’s

The Under 12’s continued their perfect stat to the season after a 4-0 win against Armadale. The ECU youngsters made it five wins from five for the season, with Covey Leigh-Smith scoring a brace, with Massimo Bresciano and an own goal completing the scoring. Despite the win Coach Brian McLathie wasn’t that pleased with the performance. “It was a comfortable win, but an average performance, so we know we have to lift,” he said. “But saying that the players are working really hard and had a great session with Aston Villa coaches, who are over from the UK to check out our academy, and they were impressed with the group.”

Under 13’s

The Under 13’s had a hard fought 2-1 win against Armadale, to keep in touch of the top three. “It was a tough game but we managed to take the points,” Coach Charlie Comyn-Platt said. “Kade Fernall and Christian Vest were on the score sheet, with Kade having a great game and taking out the Man of the Match.”

Under 14’s

The Under 14’s won comfortably 8-0 against Armadale at now sit in Fourth place on the table. “It was very impressive victory, with goals from Miki Imre, Blake Burgess, Morgan Copper  and five goals from speed machine Ewan Fawcett who was the Man of the Match

Under 15’s

The Under 15’s beat second placed Armadale 5-1, to move into third place on the table. “We went down 1-0 in the 1st half but coming roaring back with another fantastic display of football,” Coach Willie Herd said. “We scored some explosive goals , from Joe Knight, Kieron Craig, Corey Hyde, Luke salmon and Danny Jones, who was the Man of the Match.”

Under 16’s

The Under 16’s game v Armadale was cancelled and will be played at a later date.
