Talented winger Danny Dixon has left ECU Joondalup and headed back to his former club Bayswater City for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old has been outstanding for ECU this season and really enjoyed his time there, but when he got the call from Bayswater Coach Chris Coyne he know it was the right move.

Dixon moved to ECU last season and was happy at the club, so the decision to move on was a tough one. “The decision to leave ECU was a hard one, It wasn’t such a straight forward decision after everything the club has done for me over the past year, but you have to do what you think is right for you and I think rejoining Bayswater was the right decision,” he explained. “When I got a phone call from Bayswater last week, we spoke and I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do, but after having time to think about it I decided it would be a good move, and I’m happy with my decision.”

Dixon said his time at ECU was fantastic and wished them well for the rest of the season. “I really enjoyed my time at ECU, from when I got there last year to now, I never had any problems,” he said. “The committee and coaching staff have done a lot for me and all the lads were spot on, I’d like to wish them all the best for the season.”

Bayswater sit top of the table and into the FFA Cup last eight, although Dixon is Cup Tied, but he knows what to expect and is looking forward to pushing for a starting role at the club. “It will be a good new challenge for me this season, it feels good to be back down at Bayswater,” he said. “They had a good season last season winning everything possible in WA, so hopefully I can contribute to do the same this season.” Dixon will go into the Bayswater squad for Saturday’s blockbuster against Cockburn City.
