It’s the National Premier League-WA ‘Rivalry Round’ this week, and it’s the City of Joondalup derby, as ECU Joondalup travels to Percy Doyle Reserve to take on Sorrento (3pm).

ECU were beaten for the first time in five games last week against Cockburn, and Coach Dale McCulloch will be looking for his charges to bounce back this week,. “We were all disappointed with the result last week, but the conditions didn’t help, but it was the same for both sides, and on the day they took their chances, but we will be looking to put that right this week,” McCulloch said.

Sorrento had a good win at Perth last weekend will be looking to keep their spot in the top five, and have had the wood on their neighbours in recent seasons. The Gulls will be without Shaun Kilkelly, who is overseas, with Danny Cain coming into his spot, while Adam Luca is still out injured.  “Whenever we play Sorrento it’s a tight game, but in recent times, yes, they have had the wood on us, and we will be doing all we can to change that on Saturday,” McCulloch said.

In team news Carl Rodgers comes into the squad, but Ryan Townsend will miss the match through injury, while Tommy Amphlett will be pushing for a starting role after coming off the bench last week. “We welcome Carl Rodgers into the squad for this week, after his international clearance came through, and he will add some more experience to our squad. He has trained well and will give me some selection headaches for this weekend, as we look to get back into the winners circle.”

Get along and support the teams – Under 18’s kick off at 11am, Under 20’s at 1pm, and the First Team at 3pm.
