ECU Joondalup hit the road in week 3 of the National Premier League, with a trip to the E&D Litis Stadium to take on Floreat Athena on Saturday (3pm)

Coach Dale McCulloch is looking to continue their second half performance against Perth Glory last week, when they turned a round 1-0 deficit, to run out 5-1 winners. “We played some great stuff in the second half last week, but we took our chances, which we failed to do against Cockburn City the week before,” McCulloch said.

Floreat were well beaten by Perth SC last week, but McCulloch knows they are a strong side and his chargers will have to be at their best to get the points. “In the first week of the NPL they (Floreat) beat Inglewood United 3-0, so we know they are a good team and we will have to be at our best,” he said.

“That being said I know if we play to our best we can beat anyone in this league, it’s about the lads going out and doing their stuff, and the results will come.”

In team news McCulloch has a full squad to choose from, although defender Charlie Comyn-Platt is struggling with a groin injury.

Floreat will be without Ludovic Boi, Jamie Eames and Mark Walsh with injury, but they do welcome back Bobby Wilson, who came successfully through last weeks under 20’s fixture against Perth SC.

In other NPL-WA games this weekend league leaders Bayswater host bottom of the table Inglewood United at Frank Drago Reserve, Sorrento entertains Perth SC at Percy Doyle Reserve, Stirling Lions travels to the Intiga Stadium to take on Perth Glory, while Armadale and Balcatta go head-to-head at Alfred Skeet Reserve.  The game between Cockburn City and Subiaco AFC has been postponed due to building works at Dalmatinac Park. All Games are on Saturday with 3 pm kick off.
