ECU Joondalup makes the trip to Dalmatinac Park on Saturday, to take on Cockburn City (3pm)

Coach Dale McCulloch will be looking for a response from his side after a disappointing exit from the Cup on Monday. “It was tough for the lads to back up from Saturday, but it was the same for both side, but we didn’t turn up on Monday, which was disappointing. To also lose Ryan (Townsend) and Tommy (Amphlett) with red cards made it a night to forget,” he said.

“We have trained well this week and there are spots up for grabs for this weekend’s game, and I’ve been pleased with the positive reaction from the squad, and we head to Cockburn looking for the three points.”

In team news, Stuart Montgomery and Danny Dixon return to the squad, after missing the Cup game, while Henry Durr and Ryan McDarby, who both impressed after coming off the bench last week in the cup, will be pushing for a start.

Cockburn have been hit by injuries and suspensions recently, and they will sweating on the fitness of midfielder Connor Kavanagh and skipper Paul Natale, while Ross Diamond will miss the game through suspension.

In ECU’s last visit to Cockburn, Jack Eades and John Thornley put the Cockerels in a comfortable position before Tommy Amphlett struck late to ensure a tense finish, but the home side held on for a 2-1 win.
