Stynes takes out ECU Player of the Year

ECU Joondalup midfielder Jon Stynes successful season was rewarded last Friday night when he was awarded the 2013 Senior Players, player of the year award.

In a packed ECU club rooms the clubs best were rewarded, and Stynes won the prestigious ‘Players Player of the Year Trophy, after only arriving back to the club last season. He won ahead of Tommy Amphlett (2nd) and Joe Smith (3rd)

The 20-year-old returned to the club after spending two and half years playing in the UK with, Kilmarnock and Southern Premier League side Cambridge City, and he has been outstanding.

“I’m really pleased for the lad, he has been great for us this season, since returning from the UK and has played a vital role in our resurgence,” said senior Coach Dale McCulloch.

“He fitted straight back into the club and has showed great character, but we now need him to kick on and continue where he left off last season as we head into the new NPL season in 2014.”
