It’s week 20 of the Premier League and ECU Joondalup head to Percy Doyle Reserve on Saturday, for the northern suburbs local derby against Sorrento (3pm).

A good run of form has seen the side go four games unbeaten and Coach Dale McCulloch is hoping they can continue on with it on Saturday for the whole 90 minutes. “We have played well in patches this season, we need to be more consistent, but were heading in the right direction,” said McCulloch.

“Any local derby is a big game and this one is no different. We need to stay focused and continue our improvement and I’m confident if we do that we can a result.”

The Gulls lost touch with the top two after defeat at Stirling last week and Coach Paul Price is hoping to regain the services of a few players sooner rather the later. “We have been short on players over the past month and on the muddy pitch last week, we ran out of legs,” said Price.

“We are in a good position in the league and hope to get players back and fit for the finals, if we qualify. Joondalup will be a tough test, and even though their season has not gone to plan, they will be desperate to beat us.”
