Floreat Athena v ECU Joondalup – Preview

It’s week four of the All Flags Premier League and ECU make the trip to Litis Stadium on Saturday to take on Floreat Athena (3pm)

Coach Salv Todaro was disappointed with last week’s performance and is expecting a response from his side. “The players are determined to put last week’s indifferent performance behind us and get back on the winning trail this week,” said Todaro.

“We need to put together a full 90 minutes as during the last two weeks we have played for only 20 minutes each week. It will be a very interesting game, as Floreat are still winless this year and they will be going all out to get their season going.”

There are still injury concerns and Andy Higgins (hamstring) and Matty Italiano (groin)  will miss again, while Jon Higgins will have a late fitness test. In some good news Scott Blackmore returns after missed last week.

It’s been a disappointing start for Chris Barbas’ Floreat side too. They drew their opening two games, 1-1 at Inglewood, and let a two goal lead slip in the 2-2 draw with Bunbury Forum Force. Last week they were thrashed 4-1 at Macedonia Park by Stirling Lions and Barbas will be looking for an improvement from his side tomorrow.

Ludovic Boi is in doubt with a hamstring injury, and Bobby Wilson and Spencer Harris are both expected to play after picking up knocks last week.
