ECU under 18’s in Top Five Series Finals this weekend

The Under 18’s and Reserves Top Five Finals commences this weekend. ECU Joondalup face Bayswater City in the Qualifying Final on Sunday at Frank Drago Reserve. (10am)

Joondalup ran out winners 1-0 at home in round 5, but Bayswater beat them at home 3-1. Joondalup Coach Mark Windeat is looking forward to another tough contest. “I’ve been pleased with the season. We finished runners up, and managed three points less than last year’s total, which is fantastic, as we basically started with new side this term, and all players have stepped up,” said Windeat.

“We’re all looking forward to the game which Bayswater, who also finished the season strongly in 3rd place it will tough game with one win each this year it should be an exciting game.”

In the under 18’s Elimination Final on Saturday Stirling Lions go head-to-head with Inglewood United. (10am) In their league meetings Stirling ran out 3-1 winners at Intiga Stadium in round 10, while Inglewood turned the tides with a 2-1 win at Macedonia Park in round 21.

The Reserves Elimination Final sees Stirling Lions and Bayswater City doing battle at Dalmatinac Park. (12.15pm) It’s been close between the two teams this season, and in the round 4 Bayswater won at home 6-5 in a thriller, while the return game the sides fought out a 2-2 draw. Lions Coach Rob Milevski is expecting another tight game. “We played them twice this year and both games were a tough contest,” said Milevski. “We finished just above Bayswater in the league and they are a solid team that play good football, so we are expecting another tough game on Saturday.”

In the Reserves Qualifying Final, Perth SC takes on Cockburn City at Frank Drago Reserve. (12.15pm) Perth has had the upper hand in their games this season. They won 5-0, in their home game in round 6, and won 3-1 on the road in round 17.
