ECU Joondalup will look to kick start their 2013 All Flags Premier League season when they take on The Football West National Training Centre at the ECU Campus on Saturday (3pm)

Coach Salv Todaro was happy with last week’s second half against league leaders Bayswater City, but the damage was already done in the first half. “After a disappointing result last week the squad is looking at redeeming itself today against an NTC who is in fantastic form having won their last two games. The boys showed in their second half performance that they have the ability to match it with the best teams, but we need to focused and concentrated for the full 90 minutes. The boys continue to extremely hard at training and I’m sure this will start to pay off during the forthcoming games,” said Todaro.

Injury again hampers selection for Saturday’s game but Todaro believes one or two should be back in the next month. “At present we have a number of players that are unavailable due to injury, Andy Higgins, Jon Higgins, Dejan Spaseski and Tony Taylor, and we hope to have them return to action sooner rather than later. On the positive side congratulations to 16-year-old Jack Oldham who made his full first team debut last week and would have learned a lot last week,” added Todaro.

For the new season NTC Coaches Kenny Lowe and John Gibson has much the same player group at his disposal as last year. Perth Glory quartet Storm Roux, Riley Woodcock, Matthew Davies and Blamo Quaqua are the players to watch along with highly rated goalkeeper Jordan Franken. The NTC arrive at  the Arena after back to back wins.

A good 3-1 win in Bunbury, with Woodcock, Borbor Sambindi and Matt McRoberts on target. That was followed by a huge performance against second placed Stirling Lions at Macedonia Park last week, running out 4-3 winners.  Sambini, Blamo QuaQua, Sahr Musa and Lawrence Shuruma on target.
