The Cup round is done and dusted and its back to league action in Week seven of the Premier League and ECU Joondalup and Balcatta will do battle at the Edith Cowen University Campus on Saturday.

Joondalup won at Perth in the cup last week and Coach Salv Todaro has blooded some youngsters this season and he is hoping they can continue on with their good form. “We’re starting to play some consistent football and we are now starting to find the net when we are on top in game, which is pleasing. We want to continue to develop as individuals and as a team and build on the last couple of results,” said Todaro.

“Jack Oldham and Jon Stynes have come in and done a fantastic job for the team, and Joe Knowles has been coming off the bench and doing a good job. They work extremely hard at training and are developing well. They listen and implement what they are learning during the games, which is pleasing.”  In team news Igor Novakovic returns to the side this week, but they will still be without Jon and Andy Higgins, Tanner Selyer and Dejan Spaseski.

Balcatta have been one of the form teams of the league and head to Joondalup unbeaten in their last five games. They have had a few injuries, but Coach Saul Contera has been happy with his sides form and is looking forward to the trip to Joondalup. “Our league form has been good and we have picked up points, however I want us to start playing better, and I believe it’s only a matter of time before we do and we punish someone – let’s hope it starts on Saturday,” said Contera.

“I never complain about injuries it is part of football – I have given some young players a chance to get some exposure and they have done a good job when required – As the squad starts getting stronger it creates more competition which is only a good thing for us.”

In team news Adam Tong and Ben Say return to the squad, but Callum Roberts is still unavailable.
