ECU continued their fine pre-season form with a 2-0 win against Division One side Swan United at Swan View Park on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from the Higgins brothers, Andy and John, helped ECU to a comfortable win against a hard working Swan side. “It was a very good follow up performance to our Thursday night game against Sorrento. Our shape and movement of the ball was very good. The score line actually flatters Swan as they had no shots on goal and no corners,” said Coach Salv Todaro.

“The Swan keeper had an excellent game and with our inaccurate shooting kept the score line respectable.”

In other games this weekend the ECU Under 15 team lost 2-1 to Rockingham under 18 while our Under 18 team beat Rockingham reserves 2-1

In other pre-season games for the ECU first team, they beat fellow Premier League side Sorrento 2-1 on Thursday evening. Two goals from Tommy Amphlett put them in control until Sorrento pulled one back through a penalty and held on for a win despite Sorrento missing another penalty

Next up for the ECU Joondalup is a friendly against Division One side Canning City at the ECU Arena on Saturday 9th March. All three teams will be in action before commencement of the All Flags Premier League season with an away trip to Bunbury

ECU has now beaten Swan, Sorrento, Melville, Joondalup United, Shamrock Rovers and Subiaco with their only loss to Floreat in the night series.
