Under 18’s in Top Five Series Major Semi-Final

ECU Joondalup under 18’s will be aiming to add the All Flags Top Five Series Championship tomorrow, when they take on Perth Soccer Club in the Major Semi-Final at Frank Drago Reserve (10am)

The young side took out the league title two week ago and Coach Mark Windeat has been delighted the way the young lads have performed this season. “I’ve been delighted this season, and we’ve done it by using eight of the Under 15’s players this season,” explained Windeat.

“I have to take my hat off to the boys, we’ve got the youngest team in the league, and all the boys came out of junior football last year. So basically this side is last season’s under 15’s and it’s a great achievement from them all.”

Perth overcame Stirling Lions 2-1 in the Qualifying Final last week and Windeat is expecting another tough game against the Dorrien Gardens side. “It will be a tough game for us on Saturday, and again we will be using five of our junior players, as we have players injured and a few overseas at the moment,” said Windeat.

“We head into the game confident, as we’ve beaten them twice in the League and once in the pre-season, so they are probably sick of us at the moment. They are a good side and all our games are won by the odd goal and that will not change on Saturday but I’m confident we can come out on top.”

Get down and support the youngsters, kick off is 10am at Frank Drago Reserve, the home of Bayswater City.
