ECU Joondalup has been drawn away to Division One side Canning City in the first round of the State League Cup. The draw was made Friday at the Football West office in Maylands, and the game will be played at Burrendah Reserve on Wednesday April 25th (Anzac Day) with a 3pm kick off.

New Coach Salv Todaro is looking forward to the game. “It’s an interesting draw. All 1st division teams raise their game when they play premier league teams, and as Canning have attracted a number of ex premier league players in the Van Dongens, Ante Kovacvic, Paul Oliver, Daniel Trevisol, it will be a good test for our side, as we continue to work on our structure and the roles and responsibility that I want the players to play,” said Todaro.

“We are all still getting to know each other, and the young players are improving with every outing they have. We actually have a very young squad with many of the players not having played at this level before. It is quite an exciting time, and the game against Canning will be another good test for us.”

The Full draw is – Inglewood United v Dianella White Eagles, Shamrock Rovers v UWA-Nedlands FC, Hamersley Rovers v Ashfield, South Perth United v Floreat Athena, Kingsley v Morley-Windmills, Bayswater City v Stirling Lions, Balcatta v Fremantle Croatia, Canning City v ECU Joondalup, Mandurah City v Perth SC, Melville City v Fremantle United, Bunbury Forum Force v Wanneroo City, Sorrento v Cockburn City, Subiaco AFC v Western Knights, Swan United v Gosnells City, Whitford City v Rockingham City, North Perth United v Armadale
