ECU Joondalup v NTC – Preview

ECU Joondalup know nothing more than three points will do when they take on The Football West National Training Centre at ECU Arena on Saturday (3pm)

Coach Salv Todaro knows the importance of the game. “It’s close at the foot of the table with only two points between us and the bottom of the table Western Knights. Tomorrow is a very important game for the club, as we come to the business end of the season. The last couple of weeks have continued the roller coast ride that we are experiencing this year,” said Todaro.

“Armadale was a perfect example of this, I thought we were very good in the first half with a fantastic goal from Fozzie, and then second half we were not prepared to match the intensity that Armadale set, and then last week we had a very consistent effort for the full 90 minutes and we deservedly gained a very valuable point at Stirling, maybe I could even say we probably should have taken all three with a bit of luck. Whatever happens this year is in our hands and the players are working really hard in training to ensure that the best possible outcome will be achieved on match day.”

The NTC have struggled this season, but there is no doubt they will benefit from this years’ experiences in the Premier League, and with Perth Glory youth coach Gareth Naven at the helm, they will be competitive this season. It’s a been a difficult season for the youngster and they arrive at The Arena after an 3-0 defeat at Perth SC last week, but they will be buoyed after their last visit to the ECU Arena when they left with the share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
