ECU Joondalup face the longest away trip in the league on Saturday when they head down the Kwinana Freeway to take on new boys Bunbury Forum Force at Payne Park in round four of the All Flags Premier League (3pm)

A 0-2 defeat against Sorrento last week leaves ECU sitting ninth on the table, only one point behind Saturday’s opponents. Coach Salv Todaro is looking forward to the game and continuing their improvement. “The boys have trained with great enthusiasm and intensity this week and we are all looking forward to the game down in Bunbury, and are keen to come away with a positive result,” said Todaro.

In team news Tommy Jones, Scott Blackmore and Matty Italiano come into the squad for the trip, as ECU look for back-to-back away victories, after beating Bayswater City 3-2 last time on the road.

Jones, returns after two weeks away and is looking forward to the game. “It will be a tough game this week, going down there will be tough for every team this season but we got a full squad to choose from this week so I’m confident we will come away with a win,” said Jones.

“The boys have been training hard the last two weeks with Salv, and they have been impressed with his sessions and hopefully we can start putting a few good results together, starting this weekend.”

Former ECU defender Ollie McGee will miss the game tomorrow through injury, but he enjoyed his time at the ECU Arena. “ECU was great to me; they understood my visa situation and agreed to let me come back to Bunbury. Syd and the boys were very helpful and I enjoyed the banter with the guys around the club – especially Dale McCulloch brushing his teeth in the shower was my favourite,” said McGee.

The Force came away with a point last week at Perth SC and McGee, who missed the game, was delighted with the performance. “Getting a point away at Perth was excellent, not many teams will collect points at Dorrien Gardens, we now need to carry on with it starting Saturday against ECU,” explained McGee.

“I won’t be playing tomorrow due to an injury, but I will certainly be down though watching the game and catch up with some of my old team mates, just tell Dale no toothbrushes in the shower.”
