Armadale v ECU Joondalup – Preview

ECU hit the road on Saturday when they travel to Alfred Skeet Oval to take on Armadale in week 18 of the All Flags State Premier Division (3pm).

Buoyed  by the 4-2 win against Bunbury last round, to move them out of the drop zone and Coach Salv Todaro (right), who is back in the technical area after serving a two game ban, is hoping they can continue that form on Saturday. “It was a well-deserved win last time out and I thought that we controlled the game for long periods. The win was just reward for the team, who have been working extremely hard over the last 3 weeks,” Todaro said.

“It’s always a difficult place to go and play, however, the boys are looking forward to the game and being able to extract a little revenge as when we played them at our place they got away with a point after we had dominated the second half.

In team news Danny Allen is overseas, while skipper Dale McCulloch and Billy Quinncroft are in doubt through injury.

Armadale, who are at full strength going into the game, will be looking to end a six game run without a win, with the gap between them and the relegation spot having closed considerably in recent week. Coach Lee Bamber knows the importance of the game and is confident they can get the points. “The result last time out was not what we wanted. It has been a tough period and mirrors the start to our season, but we feel we will turn it around and what better opportunity than this Saturday,” Bamber said.

“It is a big game for both teams and the winner will boil down to whoever wants it the most. It will make it tougher for the loser, so very important that we get the three points.”
