ECU Joondalup will be looking for back-to-back wins on Saturday when they entertain Sorrento in a local derby, in round 23 of the All Flags Premier League at the ECU Arena (3pm)

A 4-2 win against Stirling Lions last week was pleasing for Coach Syd Amphlett and he’s looking forward to this weekend’s game. “It was a massive relief to finally get a win last week, and with some style. We totally dominated the game and it was good to see JT back on the scoreboard and to see smiles on everyone’s faces,” said Amphlett.

“It is now down to us to finish the season on a high with two wins, starting Saturday. We have everyone available and for the first time today, have the option of naming an unchanged team.”

Sorrento arrives at the Arena in fourth spot on the table, and needing three points to maintain their push for a top five finals spot. Former ECU Daryl Platten, Ryan Pearson and Danny Cain anchor the Gulls defence with former Perth Glory player Jamie Harnwell, while former Hull City keeper Curtis Aspden continues to impress behind them.

The drive across the middle of the park comes from Brodie Martin, Adam Luca and David Price; down the flanks they have another former ECU player in Jason Mirco and Jack Doyle, while David Foster and Todd Harnwell are responsible for the goals.

The Gulls beat ECU 3-0 in the round ten clash at Percy Doyle Reserve, but have won only three on the road, against Mandurah City (Rd 6) and Armadale (Rd 11), and last week with a 1-0 win at Cockburn City
