Scottish striker Ian McMurray has left ECU Joondalup and signed for Cockburn City.

The striker who joined the club from Perth SC at the start of the season will be missed but Coach Syd Amphlett wished him all the best. “I would like to thank Ian for his two stints at ECU. He has been a great player for the club but can understand his frustration at his limited playing time, and would like to wish him the best for the rest of the season and beyond,” said Amphlett.

The club are in negotiations with a couple of players to join them prior to end of registration period, and Amphlett hopes to announce the signing soon. “We have made offers to two players but as usual, will not reveal their sources until they have signed,” said Amphlett.

“We have recently come close to signing two overseas players, but both fell through so it is better not to say anything until the deals are done as all the clubs are looking for the same players.”
